Carlos Ruiz was a key part of one of the most successful eras in Philadelphia Phillies history. The Panamanian catcher wore number 51 for the club from 2006 to 2016 and played an important role during the team’s dominant run that included the 2008 World Series championship and multiple National League East titles. Known for his steady defence, clutch hitting and strong relationship with the Phillies’ pitching staff, Ruiz became a fan favourite throughout that period.
